In Ketch Harbour, Nova Scotia, our team took on a kitchen remodel project for a lovely couple who wanted to infuse the natural beauty of the outdoors into their home. When our clients purchased their new home, they had a clear vision of transforming it into a beautiful, serene space that reflected their distinct taste. They were looking for a space that was both serene and welcoming, and our team was up for the challenge.
To achieve their vision, we used an earthy color palette throughout the kitchen, incorporating forest green cabinetry and warm hardwood flooring. The centerpiece of the kitchen was a stunning walnut wood countertop, which added both elegance and natural charm to the space. To further bring the outdoors in, we added open shelving for the clients to display their plants and greenery.
One of the biggest challenges of the project was removing the wall separating the kitchen and living area. However, this allowed us to create a functional work space that allowed the clients to prepare meals while enjoying the breathtaking harbor view through the large window. We also added a large peninsula island, providing ample storage and seating for guests to socialize in the kitchen.
With the new design in place, we encountered another hurdle when we realized that we needed to relocate a large floor vent that was obstructing the walkway/entry between the kitchen and living area. Relocating the ducts was not feasible due to the existing floor joist location, so our team came up with a creative solution: a custom wood floor vent that was stained to match the existing hardwood flooring, blending seamlessly into the space.
The end result was a beautiful and functional kitchen that perfectly reflected the clients’ taste and love for nature. The warm and inviting atmosphere was a perfect match for the coastal charm of Ketch Harbour, and our team was proud to bring this project to life.
Overall, we were thrilled to work with our clients on this project and create a beautiful, serene space that perfectly reflected their unique taste and brought the natural beauty of the outdoors inside. We are confident that they will enjoy their new home for years to come.
