These clients wanted to open up their main living space and create a family friendly space. This included a custom kitchen, flowing into the dining and living rooms.
We salvaged as much as possible for the local Halifax Habitat for Humanity and reused as many fixtures as possible, including the 100 year old fireplace mantel piece. The open space allowed natural light to shine throughout and the monochromatic white and grey keep things bright and airy. Engineered hardwood floors run throughout the main floor, connecting the rooms and bringing warmth to the space. The large quartz island centerpiece anchors the main floor and draws this busy family together at mealtimes.
We added plenty of storage throughout, including hidden storage in the island, double pantry with roll out drawers, and ceiling-high glass cupboards for displaying collectables. Clear pendant lighting keeps the sightlines open.
The clients were so please with their new main floor, we were invited back to complete the upper level, the exterior, and create an outdoor living space in the backyard.
