These downtown Halifax clients were tired of their closed-off, and extremely out-of-date kitchen. They were excited for a big change and got right down to work with our design team. The plan included a revitalized, open-concept space to unify the main floor living spaces and warm, dark, rich tones.
To open the sight-lines and increase the kitchen square footage, we incorporated a structural beam. This allowed us to remove the load-bearing wall that had been closing the kitchen in. We worked closely with the clients to create an open galley style kitchen incorporating their design styles. Dark wood cabinets and granite counter tops give this space a rich and warm feel. We carefully matched the original hardwood floors throughout the main level to create a continuous flow. The beautiful stone feature wall adds texture and transitions seamlessly from kitchen to dining room.
