Basement Renovation (Pub-theme) in Halifax, Nova Scotia
Our clients in Halifax had purchased an older home which had great “bones” and architectural features that they enjoyed, however they knew when purchasing it that they would want to make some fairly significant updates to make it their “dream home” and more specifically the unfinished basement space.
One dream that they needed help envisioning and then making reality, was a long- thought out desire for a English pub in their own home’s basement! They wanted the remodel to incorporate traditional “pub” elements in their basement such as plumbed in kegs, exposed stone and wood paneling details. In addition, they hoped for a separate wine bar area that could be another entertaining and seating area, plus a living room with fireplace.
Within the English pub area they wanted to accommodate a bar fridge, sink, dishwasher, storage for various types of glasses, liquor storage, keg storage and keg faucets. For the Living room area in the basement renovation they wanted to create an additional comfortable seating area in front of the elegant fireplace. In the wine bar area, the mandate was to have two wine fridges with different temperature controls, plus wall mount wine storage, cabinet storage and another seating area.
This award-winning project also included a full-bathroom renovation and a kitchen remodel with a new kitchen island, along with many other home improvements in this Halifax home.
